This method just uses Google Chrome, ChatGPT (the free version) and any Spreadsheet app to generate free leads.
This is totally legal because the source data includes the company's details as their advertising. They want you to contact them, and all you are doing is efficiently collating their contact details into one place. It is completely different to a 'scraping bot', that companies like Facebook, Google, Apple, Amazon and TikTok use to access your personal details (usually without your knowledge) to bombard you with adverts. So you can rest-assured, you are not breaking any GDPR regulations.
Follow these steps exactly to generate free leads.
1. Open Google Chrome browser and search using this exact query (copy and paste to not miss any notation or spacing):
site:SocialPlatformLink "niche" "gmail.com" "location"
For example if I want to find all Roofers in London who have posted on Instagram and have a Gmail address, I would put:
site:instagram.com Roofers gmail.com London UK (no quotation marks).
or from posts on LinkedIn, I would put:
site:uk.linkedin.com Roofers gmail.com London UK (again no quotation marks).
As you can see in the picture, using the LinkedIn query above I got over 1,750 results!
Is that enough new leads for you?
You can substitute any social platform link, any trade or service, any email provider and any location that suits your needs.
However, do note that this only works on Google Chrome browser.
2. Copy the page contents
CTRL A - to select all results if you are on a Windows device. Use CMD A on a Mac.
CTRL C - to copy all results, or CMD C if you are on a Mac.
3. Open ChatGPT, or your go-to AI GPT, and enter the following prompt:
"You are a spreadsheet expert. Format the data below into a table, and create a column for: Count, First Name, Company Name, Company Website, Phone Number, Email Address" (without the quotation marks).
4. Paste the Google search content below this prompt using CTRL V (or CMD V), then run the query.
On the free version there is a limit to the amount of data that you can enter, but you can always copy and paste more data into another ChatGPT query.
If ChatGPT stops after just a few entries, type this prompt in:
"Surely there are more results in the dataset that you haven't tabulated?" (without the quotation marks) and run it.
I had to do this 3 times, but it only took a few seconds.
I tried it separately with ClaudeAI and it parsed the whole dataset in one go, so consider using Claude. (I don't work for or gain any monetary benefit from mentioning Claude).
5. Copy and paste the resultant table into a spreadsheet page (Google Docs/Sheets, Excel, OpenOfficeCalc, etc.) and check formatting.
6. Check the information carefully, as searches will include a few companies and individuals that have nothing to do with Roofing or Roofers, or might be employment agencies advertising jobs, so delete those lines from your table.
Visit the websites briefly to check the companies are valid/live and then use the email addresses for cold outreach with a compelling offer in your first email and a CTA (Call to Action). You can easily strip out the names and email addresses in the spreadsheet.
7. Wait 24 hours then follow up the cold email with a warm email, asking if they got your previous email and repeating the offer with additional useful expertise, and don't forget to put in your CTA.
Realistically, if your offer is compelling - you should get at least 10% responses that can be turned into customers.
